2019 was a very exciting year as we continued our efforts to bring to the communities we serve awareness of and the solutions to issues surrounding substance use disorder. Fall brought many opportunities to partner with other local gov’t, non-profit, educational and private organizations in these efforts. Wells House co-sponsored National Recovery Month activities in both Frederick and Washington Counties. Wells House staff and patients participated in Washington Goes Purple events with the second annual Recovery Walk being a highlight for all. In Frederick County we co-sponsored the third annual Recovery Kickball Tournament with 12 team from all segments of the recovery community, law enforcement and treatment communities. Over 100 people spent a wonderful September afternoon celebrating recovery. Wells House also was privileged to help present the third annual Recovery Has Talent event at the Baker Park Band Shell where we experienced the amazing talents of some of the members of the recovery community in Frederick County.
